Where did August go? We have been soooo busy. We finished looking at the “All About Me” bags this week. Thanks for sending them in. The students really enjoyed it. Thanks for all your hard work on the homework and the reading work. Remember to send back the readers each day. Next week we will continue to learn the letters of the alphabet. We will be learning Oo, Pp, Qq, Rr, Ss. Be reviewing these letters each night with your child and the sound that the letter makes. Your help at home is crucial for your child’s success. I depend on you to do homework and reading work and any extra skills items that come home with your child to strengthen these skills. I need your help. Thank you. We talked about our families this week during theme time. Next week’s theme is Friends. August 17th News

Specials Schedule *varies each week: August 20-24 8:30-9:20 Specials Monday-PE Tuesday-Art Wednesday-Computer Thursday-Library/Music Friday- Computer 12:25-12:55 Specials Monday-Computers Tuesday-Music Wednesday-Guidance/Writing* Thursday-PE Friday-Library Hello Kindergarten Families, This week we worked on our MES Guidelines. We talked about each one and made a little book about how we meet the guidelines. T= Treat others the way you want to be treated I= I always do my best G= Give respect to people and property E= Everyone acts responsible R= Remember to cooperate with others S= Success is up to me Next week we are going to continue to work on rules and routines. We will be talking about “All About Me”. Please see the attached “All About Me” sheet to create your child’s bag to share next week. They always love sharing their things. Help is needed in the Computer Lab: If you have any old gift cards (such as i-Tunes and Wal-Mart) that are all used up/depleted with NO money on them please consider donating them to the computer lab. We are using them to make headphone holders! Thank you for your help with this! Mrs. Liz Wilson REMINDERS *Please send in August snacks: enough for 22 students The children are very thirsty. Please send a water bottle for your child to keep at school. This must be a bottle that is spill proof. Please put his or her name on the bottle. These bottles will be refilled at the sink. Students will bring or throw away bottles. Behavior: I have a great class this year. They are learning the rules so well. Some still struggle with some of the rules so I am reminding them and if they continue I am moving their clip to time out. The sooner they learn acceptable behavior the sooner we can do some great learning activities. Your child may occasionally forget so it’s not a repeated problem. All my students are progressing and are not bad behavior problems, just could be better with some rules. I want the best learning environment for ALL my students. We can have more fun when everyone listens and follows directions. I love my class! Thanks for your support at home.
