This week we learned about our American Symbols. We talked about many symbols, but focused on the Liberty Bell, Bald Eagle, and the American Flag. Students completed a craft with each of those. Some are in our hallway and others were sent home. We really focused on the letter "Mm" this week.
Next week we will be doing a unit on apples. It is always a lot of fun. We get to taste test various apples and decide which one is our favorite. We are going to make apple trees about our class favorites. We will be learning about the letter "Tt".

September brought us nicer temperatures and some extra time outside. Ms. Kayla and Ms. Leslie have been helping us in Chris's absence. We were able to start volunteering this week. I appreciate all your help and thank you for being so flexible as our schedule changes at times. If you are unable to volunteer on your assigned time, please let me know so I can adjust.

We finished our introduction to numbers. We identified numbers 1-10, wrote the numbers 1-10, colored the correct number of pictures for 1-10, and wrote the number word for 1-10. We practiced picking a number and putting that many items in a circle. Continue to work on these skills with your child.
Next week we will be talking about American Symbols. We will focus on the American Flag, Bald Eagle, Liberty bell. We have some neat craft activities to go along with our learning.
We will be going to Fall on the Farm on Thursday morning. Please dress your child accordingly. We will be returning to school for lunch. Your child may make a lunch choice in the cafeteria or bring his/her lunch.

This week was full of fun. We enjoyed the friend activities. Our favorite was comparing our name to our friends to see whose was the largest. We also made number books for numbers 1-8. When learning our numbers we need to learn how to write the number, represent the number with objects, and the word for the number.
Thanks for sending in the fruit for our "friendship fruit salad". It was yummy.
Our teacher assistant, Mrs. Chris had surgery last Friday. There were complications and she will be out for 6 weeks to recover. Please remember her as
